Adventure to Viva Las Vegas

Hello Friends!

We are back from our adventure in Las Vegas! Whew! That was something to see! I’m still a little overwhelmed with just the number of people and the massive infrastructure, but it was great to experience everything. However, I’m glad to be back in Mississippi with the trees, birds, and quietness.

But back to the trip! It was so amazing because we went with my sister and her husband, and they had never flown before. They were total newbies to the world of flying, from checking in to checking out. I’m so glad that I could experience it with them. We are all retirees, so we are planning our next trip.

They were part of a family reunion event, so Phillip and I tagged along and stayed in the Golden Nugget Casino Hotel with them in downtown Las Vegas. I thought the strip was nearby, but that would be a no. It was probably about 15 minutes away in an Uber. Consequently, downtown has its own flair because the Fremont Street Experience is a whole vibe. It takes entertainment to a new level. It was exhilarating during the day but especially at night!

On Saturday morning, we put on our big people pants and reserved an Uber to take us to THE STRIP! With a pounding heart, I exited the Uber car to experience everything that I had heard and seen on television. Folks! It did not disappoint. Wow! The sights and sounds were tremendous. The buildings were ginormous. I just couldn’t believe my eyes. One of the first casinos that we visited was the Caesars Palace Casino. The grandeur was out of this world. With high-end shops, restaurants, and magnificent displays and exhibitions, my senses were at an all-time high. What really caught my attention was the Garden of the Gods area. With a roof that appeared to be the actual night sky, I was taken in by the beautiful waterfalls and opulent statues. It was really something to see!

Also, we made sure to catch a show. We wanted a budget-friendly and entertaining venue, so we chose the Soul of Motown in the Westgate Las Vegas Resort and Casino. The show was simply fantastic. At about $49.99 per person, the tickets were reasonable but don’t forget about the fees that are attached. But, even with the fees, we felt like we got our money’s worth with the excellent singing and high-energy dancing and performances.

I have to tell you that Las Vegas did not disappoint me or my family. We are looking forward to a trip during the off-season to catch a show and experience the strip in a less chaotic, busy atmosphere.

Until next time! Be kind to someone today!
