Hello Friends,
I hope you are well! I just returned from helping my elderly father in Texas, and he is continuing to try and live his creative life at 88 years young. He’s so inspiring!
I had never really thought about it, but it hit me one day. God was a creator and is our example to live a creative life! I was floored!
Now, I have the best example to live my creative life.
In Genesis, it shares how God started His creativity. “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was formless and empty, and darkness covered the deep waters. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the surface of the waters.” Genesis 1:1-2 NLT
God wasn’t just sitting around twiddling his fingers. He was creating! Just like my dad trying to live his creative life, God chose creativity when he created the heavens and the earth.
In whatever way, you decide to be creative, it can enhance your life. It might be finding moments to drink coffee with friends.
Or it could be going shopping to get your steps in and enjoying people-watching.
Whatever you decide to do, let it be something that you enjoy! If it gets you out of your comfort zone, then that’s even better! Learning something new is so good for the brain and our mental health.
I’m so glad that I have the BEST example of creative living, Our Father in Heaven. I know that I’m headed in the right direction in my later years!
I wish I had been able to immerse myself in my creativity sooner, but I had responsibilities to my family and my students. However, I think this is the perfect time because it gives me a great retirement life.
God is the first creator! Now, it’s time for us to get creative in our lives over 50!
